Summer’s over on Day 3 of surfing 2026?

My son Jason made the Call to check the surf at high noon based on the tides. Took a peek at the waves lined up in the glassy, ultra clear, blue green water. Clear blue sky, warm 70• air, zero wind and only 2 surfers out at our beloved TerraMar. That’s a GO! Paddled out in trunks in mid-January to what was like a big, beautiful aquarium. Super clear, loaded with fish and reef grass swaying in the swell below. We could pick and choose any waves because there was no one out with us, at least for the first hour. Wave after glassy faced wave rolled thru for us and we had a blast! Jason caught maybe 10-12 or so, and half those were keepers. I had some good ones too, but it was his day for sure. Often that scenario is more fun, if you dig! Just as we exited, the whole scene changed with a cool fog bank rushing in. It was a great day! Summer in the middle of January. I love it ❤️

Day 2 of many, many more to come in 2026

Yesterday was day 2 of surfing ‘26’ We got there at 945 and rhe conditions were epic again with a bigger glass wave on tap. We both had our spring suits on and paddled out to awesomeness. I got a keeper pretty fast and rode it in immediately, pulled off the wetsuit and went back out in the trunks where the old guy caught a whole lot of waves on this beautiful mid January day. I’m gettin’ the good stuff and loving it❤️
